I Have an Overdue Library Book. What Do I Do?

I have an overdue library book. What do I do?

Answer

As long as the book is returned in good condition, you will not be fined for an overdue book.

However, patrons with overdue materials receive an immediate overdue notice and, one week later, a bill.

A replacement fee is charged for all damaged, lost, or missing items.

Unpaid replacement fees may result in suspension of borrowing privileges and a Banner hold on QV transactions, including registration, and grades.

RETURN THE BOOK:

  • DANIELSON, OUTSIDE:

You can always return a library book at the front desk with a librarian.

However, if a librarian is not at the front desk, please place the item in our blue return box that is near the entrance to the library.

You can also place the item just outside of the library in our drop box as long as the school is open:

At anytime, you can drop off your item outside of the building in our library drop box near Parking Lot C:

    • Please return library books to the Book Return Box located on the sidewalk outside the Danielson building.  Use Parking Lot C. You don't even have to exit your vehicle -- it works like a mail box.

  • DANIELSON, INSIDE:

    • Books can also be returned inside the the library or through the return-slot next to the library's main entrance.

  • WILLIMANTIC:

    • If you are a Willimantic student, return library books to the Willimantic site, 729 Main St. Please contact the library @ QV-Library@ctstate.edu to arrange a time for the book to be dropped off. The book will be delivered to the library on the Danielson campus and then the "return" will be completed.
