How do I request a hotspot or laptop?

Answer

 

  1. Submit a Technology Loan Application, which can be located on the library homepage.
  2. After submitting the application, request a hotspot or laptop from the online library catalogue:
    1. Sign into your library account using "Community College signon"

    2. Click the big, blue "Request" button next to "Request Options" underneath "Get It"

    3. Next to "Request Description" type your student ID number. (All other fields may remain blank.)

    4. Click "Request" at the bottom of the short "Library Material Request Form"
  3. You will receive an email at your NCC email address when a hotspot or laptop is available for you to check out.
    1. You will have 3 days after receiving the notification email to pick up the hotspot or laptop.
    2. If you don't pick up the hotspot or laptop by the deadline stated in the email, your technology request will be canceled, and the hotspot or laptop will be offered to the next library user on the waiting list.
  4. Technology loans are due back in the library at the end of the semester.
    1. Hotspot service will be turned off remotely after the due date.
    2. If you do not return the hotspot or laptop by the due date, you will be charged the full replacement cost, and your student account will be blocked until the hotspot or laptop is returned or the fee is paid. If you return the hotspot or laptop, the fee will be removed.
      • Replacement charges are as follows; repairs vary by device and damage:

        • $1,000 for laptops
        • $100 for hotspots
        • $100 for any laptop chargers
