How to set up your Norwalk Campus Library loaner laptop

Answer

  1. Turn on the laptop.
    If the laptop does not turn on, it may need to be charged with the included power cable.

     
  2. The computer may begin some automated setup, this could take several minutes.
  3. You will be prompted to select a Region: confirm or select United States.
  4. At the Keyboard Layout prompt, confirm or select US. Click Yes
  5. Add a second Keyboard? Click Skip
  6. Connect to a network: This step varies, depending on where you are:
    • If you are on campus, select ConnSCU network
      1. You will be prompted to enter credentials. Enter your full college NetID
        (e.g, 12345678@student.commnet.edu) and password.
    • If you are off campus: Select the appropriate Wi-Fi name and password.
  7. After a few minutes of checking for updates, you should see a License Agreement. Click Accept
  8. How would you like to set up? Select Set up for work or school. Click Next
  9. At the Sign in prompt:
    • Enter your student NetID (e.g., 012345678@student.commnet.edu)
    • Enter your password
  10. Choose privacy settings. Click Next or Accept
  11. The computer may take several minutes to update and get things ready.
  12. Use Windows Hello with your Account:
    • You may be prompted to enter an MFA security code, do so now.

  13. Open Microsoft Edge browser by clicking on this icon:
  14. Click the 3 dots icon ··· in the top right of the browser window.
  15. Select Settings
  16. A new page will open. Click the Sign out button in the top middle.
  17. You’re now done with setup.
