How do I connect to the WiFi?
Answer
There are three wireless networks on campus: ConnSCU (students, faculty and staff only), Eduroam (students, faculty and staff only) and ConnSCU Guests (for visitors to MCC only).
GUEST ACCESS
A staff member at the circulation desk can provide login credentials for short-term access. You will need a valid email address and show a photo ID to be issued credentials.
The guest wireless network is ConnSCU Guests. Select this network on your phone, laptop, etc. Depending on your device or operating system, you may be automatically redirected to a login page where you can enter the username and password that was provided by library staff. If no login page appears, enter 1.1.1.1 in the browser address bar. The login page should load.
STUDENTS/FACULTY/STAFF
ConnSCU is the preferred wireless network for current MCC students faculty and staff. Select this network on your phone, laptop, etc. Depending on your device or operating system, you may be automatically prompted to enter your full Net ID (ex., 01234567@student.commnet.edu) and password. The link below provides specific instructions for your type of device or operating system for both ConnSCU and Eduroam networks.
If you find you're unable to connect, contact:
STUDENTS: Connecticut Community College Online Helpdesk - https://cscu.edusupportcenter.com/.
FACULTY/STAFF: CSCU ServiceNow - https://cscu.service-now.com/sp/.
The most common reasons for not being able to connect are 1) Your NetID password has expired or is incorrect, or 2) You haven't set up multi-factor authentication yet. If you haven't set up multi-factor authentication, you will get a pop-up message when you log into myCommNet asking you to provide additional information. Taking care of this will make it easier to reset your password in the future as well as allow you to connect to the wireless network.
