How do I use the research databases and e-journals if I'm not on campus?

I'd like to use Academic Search Premier and some other databases when I'm at home, but the system keeps asking for a username and password. How do I get in?

Answer

You can connect to all of MCC's subscription databases, e-books, streaming video and e-journals through the library's website (http://www.manchestercc.edu/library). All e-book, e-journal, and streaming video titles are included in the library's catalog, MCC Search.

Select the "Research Databases" tab on the library website to search for a subscription database. You can search by the database title or browse by subject. When you locate the one you'd like to use (ex. Opposing Viewpoints, Academic Search Premier) click on the title link. You'll be redirected to myCommNet to login with your NetID and Password. After logging in you will be redirected back to the database, etc. Go to the myCommNet FAQ page if you need to activate, reset, or retrieve a NetID account. Happy searching!
